Announcements for the week of November 16 - 20

·        Midterms - - - it’s time for Midterms!

·        All Students – you should have print a ONE - PAGE  grade summary in School Fusion YESTERDAY – had it signed by a parent or guardian AND now turn it in to your homeroom teacher TODAY.

·        Congratulations to each of the Geography Bee participants in yesterday’s Preliminary Round. It was an exciting competition and everyone did a great job!

·        After completing 7 rounds of difficult questions, and 5 tiebreaker rounds, the following 10 students have qualified for the Final Round of competition which will be held on January 14th.

·        Please be aware that the appropriate time to drop off students in the morning is 8:20am, unless they have a previously arranged meeting or activity such as a study session with a teacher or athletic practice. 

·        The school does not provide any supervision for students who arrive earlier. 

·        Dismissal is at 3:30 and students are expected to be picked up no later than 4:00, unless they are staying for a prearranged activity. 

·        Students - - - please remind your parents that this is a matter of safety for all students and their cooperation with this policy is greatly appreciated.

·        Great defense was played by Preston M.

·        Here are the results for the 7th grade boys basketball Team 1 Northern Division Basketball Tournament

·        Great defense was played by Jacob B and Chase P. Scoring for your MIGHTY MUSTANGS were Forbes P-18 pts; Carter G-17 pts; Mike W-17 pts; Kye G 14-pts; Tal Z-12 pts; Gil D-9 pts; Gunnar M-7 pts; Jon D-5 pts; and Nate B-2 pts.

·        The Preliminary Round of this year's Geography Bee will held TODAY - Thursday, November 19th, in the Library. 

·        It will begin immediately following the announcements and will last through 1st period, and possibly the beginning of 2nd period.

·        We had three teams entered. 

·        Team Two results----2 wins 1 loss

·        Leading Team Two were: Max K-30 pts; Brody C-27 pts; Mason Z-18 pts; Tim K-12 pts; Jordan G-11 pts; Ben K-8 pts; Jacob S-6 pts; Brady P-5 pts; Daniel P-4 pts; Joshua P-2 pts; Ethan S-2 pts. Congratulations.

·        Tomorrow  - - - Team Three Results and Wednesday Team One results.

 

·        Congratulations to the 7th grade softball team.

·        The Mustangs were represented very well at the Festival.

·        They went 3 – 0 on Saturday.

·        They beat ANLC 10-0

·        They beat Ingelside 10-0

·        They beat Mountainside 10-1

·        Cocopah played great defense and REALLY hit the ball well.

·        Way to go Mustangs!

·        The City of Scottsdale Youth Sports would like everyone to know about their upcoming Dodgeball League for 7th and 8th graders

·        Registration is currently on-going and teams are forming now.

·        The season only runs for three weeks - - - between November 30th and December 18th.  

·        Practices are two days a week - - - which will be determined by your coach.  

·        There will be round robin tournaments on Friday evenings.

·        Speaking of sports - - - If you still have your baseball or girls basketball uniform - - - we need it back ASAP.

·        The APT is hosting a fundraiser TONIGHT - THURSDAY NIGHT at Dickey’s BBQ right down the street!

·        All you have to do is pick up one of these flyers in the office and present it when you order at Dickey’s. Or if you forget - - - you may also print one off the APT website.

·        Dickey’s will then donate a portion of the order back to Cocopah.

·        Yummy! Dickey’s BBQ TONIGHT!!!

 

·        Now would be an excellent time to be an ANGEL!!!

·        The Angel Tree is back!

·        We have 114 students from Bethune who would really like some help.

·        You can make a difference! For some of these students, this will be their only gift this year.

·        Just fill out the green form with your family or friends – stop by the Angel Tree Table by the front office – and select a student.

·        You’ll be able to buy gifts UP TO 25.00.

·        Come on – be an angel! Student Council is counting on you!

·        What a wonderful time we all had at the carnival on Friday.

·        Could you believe how many times Ms. Hilton went DOWN in the Dunk Tank???

·        The 20th Annual Veterans Day Commemoration will be at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park.

·        This year, Cocopah's Service Learning student Kansas C has been selected to speak at this event that will pay a tribute to Zina Kuhn, the Veteran's Day event founder. 

·        Kansas will also accepting a copy of Kuhn's biography on behalf of the students of the school district. 

·        Please join us in the celebration on Wednesday, November 11 at the McCormick Stillman Railroad Park at 3:30. 

·        Service Learning student volunteers will start refreshments, cookies and seating at 3:00.

  

·        There will be NO SCHOOL on WEDNESDAY, November 11th in honor of Veterans Day. 

·        We honor and remember those who have, those who do, and those who will defend our freedoms. . . by playing this video. Please watch.
